can't open links in Outlook 2010
I have Win 8.1 and just upgraded to Firefox vs 67.0 64 Bit which is, and has been my default browser for years and now can't open links in Outlook 2010.
I don't use IE so why would that even help?
I had no problem with the links in vs. 66...so should I go back to an earlier version, and is that even a selectable item(?) and from some of the responses, that didn't even help.
Logically, I'm leaning to go back anyway to earlier version but was hoping someone can provide some info that CAN AND WILL FIX THIS PROBLEM...any help will be greatly appreciated! thanks

But on the other hand, I'm sure many people have been using Firefox as their default browser to handle links from external applications like Office and Acrobat for years and years. I generally keep Firefox running 24x7 so links continue to open normally, but I understand that if Firefox needs to fire up in a new profile, the page is coming up blank for some users.

I wish we knew what fixed it. Some users have reported that problems were mysteriously solved after doing a normal Windows shutdown and restart. Support forum volunteers are still trying to figure out what causes the issue.

What happens when you click in a link in Outlook 2010 now?
Does it help if Firefox is already open (you can minimize is to the Taskbar to keep it out of your way)?
Don't know what you mean by "now"....ever since I upgraded to vers. 67.0 the problem was there with no active links.

Still don't know why people were saying to work thru IE when I don't use that.
Anyhow, the problem was self-cured....
My advice on this is use IE or Edge when access anything Outlook or Microsoft email accounts. For some reason Microsoft is picky on how their software interacts with browsers other their browsers aka IE or Edge. My work place recommends Microsoft webmail to use IE or Edge.

I am running Windows 10, Outlook 2010 and the latest Firefox. I just rebooted my computer and still links do not work. This has been going on for at least two weeks. The only thing that works is another browser. I have been using Firefox for years but with the Last Pass problem a month or so ago and this I am about to give it up for good.
Hi Anita Privett, what happens when you click the link? For example:
(A) Firefox opens a new window or tab that looks normal, but doesn't load the link
(B) Firefox opens a new window and loads the link, but this is not your normal Firefox (doesn't have your customizations)
(C) Firefox opens a new window that looks unfamiliar and does NOT load the link
(D) Something else
With Firefox pinned to start and as default browser, when I click on "unsubscribe" I get the box that says "This operation has been canceled....Please contact your administrator". Today when I tried Chrome, it also failed in the same way. It doesn't open a window or tab. This is on my personal computer with administrator permissions. A week or so ago when I tried Chrome as default app I believed it worked.
Hi Anita, Microsoft Office is a bit stupid about figuring out your new default browser if the old default browser is uninstalled. Could you check the following article for suggestions: https://www.slipstick.com/problems/this-operation-has-been-cancelled-due-to-restrictions/
After a great deal of aggregation I got it to work. Windows 10 does not want you to use Internet Explorer. It is hard to find and it will not put a link on the desktop. I opened IE, pinned it to start menu and then had trouble getting everything closed so I could " restore" the defaults in the IE Tool Box as suggested in another post. Eventually I was able to get it done and then selected Firefox as default browser. Outlook once again handled hyperlinks correctly. This may have happened because I reinstalled Firefox because the audio stopped working and I couldn't figure out what was wrong. The reinstall fixed that problem.
