Can't download Add-ons

Được đăng

I know there's presently an Add-On issue but at 19:00 hrs on Saturday, I still can't get my Add-Ons back nor can I utilize the Add-Ons store.

When I try to get an Add-On it says I'm not connected.

Also, I find it kind of odd that there isn't some kind of timestamp for the message at the top of this page:

"We rolled out a hotfix that re-enables affected add-ons. The fix will be automatically applied in the background within the next few hours. For more details, please check out the update at https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/add-ons-failing-install-firefox"

How do I know how recent that message is?

Makes no sense as you guys/gals are techies..shouldn't a time stamp be #1 thing to include in any mass correspondence?

Anyway, being that I don't know how recent that message is, I can't tell if my firefox has/hasn't gotten the fix.

I went to About:Issues and didn't see anything in there that would indicate that I'm even a part of any fix.

And yes, I believe I have "Studies" enabled.

Like you guys I'm sure, I hope I wake up tomorrow and open my trusty fox icon and walla, all fixed :-/

In the meantime, I'd welcome some individual attention to at least find out where I stand.

Thanks so much,

J.

Boom..they're back.

Thanks for the detailed instructions..would of never figured that out.

Funny thing is I kind of liked how smooth ff seemed to operate over the last 2 days w/o all these extensions...

Might have to remove a bunch.

Anyway, thanks so much for your help..

J.

Hi jono5900, did you get the studies related to this fix, or did they never show up on the about:studies page?

If you got the studies, check whether the certificate was added. That would be on the Options/Preferences page:

  • Windows: "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Options
  • Mac: "3-bar" menu button (or Firefox menu) > Preferences
  • Linux: "3-bar" menu button (or Edit menu) > Preferences
  • Any system: type or paste about:preferences into the address bar and press Enter/Return to load it

In the search box at the top of the page, type cert and Firefox should filter to the Certificates section. Then click the "View Certificates" button. Check the "Authorities" tab to see whether Mozilla is listed with the new certificate. You can compare the attached screenshot.

If you got no studies and no certificate, try the manual method listed in this reply and/or the ones that follow: https://support.mozilla.org/questions/1258208#answer-1218876

hmm, no Mozilla Cert to be found.

That being said, I'm using v58.02(32 bit) and am, that is, was very happy with it and have resisted upgrading for quite some time.

Like a large % of people that feel the same way, I fear that many of my fav 3rd party extensions will no longer be available should I upgrade.

I actually tried v60 awhile back and witnessed this for myself.

I then scrambled to reset back to my present version and was quite content.

Can I follow the steps detailed in your reply with the version I'm on or will I need to update to latest version?

Thanks so much for the help

Jonathan

Hi Jonathan, the steps in the other thread are for Firefox 52, so the Options page is laid out a little differently, but otherwise, they should work. I have tested in 52 and 66 so far, but I can't test other versions.
