sorry if that didn't make sense. what i mean is whenever i search for a bookmark, get the result, move it to the desired folder, instead of moving it, it creates a duplicate in that folder. the strange thing is, is that it doesnt always happen but when it does, i cant figure out why. please help.

oh, yes im using the lastest, at least from when this post was made, version of firefox and yes the urls of these bookmarks are up to date.

thank you.

Hmm, yes, I see. When you drag-and-drop from bookmark search results in the Library, there is a little + on the mouse cursor indicating it will copy instead of moving it. And cut-and-paste doesn't remove the original.

Is this new? I guess I don't do this very often.

Another way to move a bookmark is to open the bookmarked URL and click the blue star in the address bar to open the little edit dialog with the folder picker. But that's definitely an extra step or two.

Did you try to use Cut and Past of a single bookmark instead of dragging?

Are you dragging more than one bookmark because in that case you might drag bookmarks that aren't in the same folder?

sorry for the late replay.

no i typicaly just drag and drop, cutting and pasting seemed like an unnecessary step in doing something that sould be a simple thing and i sometimes drag more than one but not often. it still hapens when im dragging one tho.

it weird tho as it only happens in the new version, it never happend to me in the old version.

Hi, this is a known bug.

If you do a bookmarks search and drag and drop to somewhere else it will currently always perform a copy (there will be a + indicator on the mouse).

If you're just in a normal bookmarks view without the search and do the drag and drop, then it will move by default, or copy if you press the alt key (I think that's the right key).
