Firefox used to be a GREAT tool. Now, it is LESS than great. Firefox previously would load a web page in very short order (never really timed it) but it was in seconds. NOW it is more like MINUTES and that is just when it starts to indicate the page is STARTING to show itself on the screen. Has YAHOO insert itself into your programming?

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link}

A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh). Is the problem still there?

I have tried all sorts of thing to resolve this problem. All things remained the same. I am now in a real quandary as to how to proceed from here. I suppose I will have to take this laptop to the Genius Bar and have them straighten it out.

I am sorry that I failed, miserably, to mention that I am working with an Apple computer and any references to Windows 2,3,4,5,6,7,8,910 or Linux are completely foreign to me.

I have attempted to accomplish what I need to do with the instructions you referred to by using the icon in the upper right corner about refreshing Firefox and when all is said and, allegedly, done the system cannot find any information. Thanks for your time.

https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/update-firefox-latest-version?cache=no Did you update Firefox to the latest version 65.0.2 February 28, 2019

Before reading your last piece of advice I checked the version of Firefox that I was using. It showed 65.0.1 and the window showed "Firefox Is Up To Date. Then I read your recommendation to up-date to 65.0.2. I attempted to do that, although that same window, now, says I am "Up To Date" with 65.0.2 the operation remains the same. Hopefully I did NOT select the wrong item or push the wrong button but I have uninstalled Firefox twice, shut down the computer, restarted each time and tried to download and install 65.0.2 without success. Any suggestions?

Please explain the problem in detail. What happens? What is the exact error messages?

I do receive error messages that various websites are NOT accessible or cannot be found, including Mozilla. I was hoping for a bit more speed in the download/upload process. Like I mentioned in my very first communique the Firefox homepage and any of the websites that I visit previously would take seconds to load up. Now they take minutes and now I also get the caricature with its sign stating we are not going anywhere with this operation and to, maybe, try back later, or pull the plug and start over, or look for disconnections.

Do you think it would help to completely scrub the existing Firefox from my system, let it be for a period of time and then attempt to reinstall Firefox from the link that you mentioned three messages back? I am frustrated and really do appreciate the effort(s) you have expended over a long period of time, going back to the time before Hawai'i's volcano erupted.
