Support site gives an error when I try and log a issue

This is happening consistently when I use this page (e.g. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/new/desktop/websites/form?search=Support+site+gives+an+error+when+I+try+and+log+a+issue&step=aaq-question) to log an issue.

It normally gives an error message but still logs the issue, however, when I selected "automatically add" for troubleshooting info the last time (previous times I did not do this), it gave me a different error before giving me the usual error, but also did not log the issue.

The actual error message was lost when this page failed again, but I expect this one will again fail and I will be able to update it. However I do recall that one part referred to HTTP 502.

Thanks

Mark

Update - OK, this time it worked fine, so I am unable to provide more detail at this stage.

And guess what, I tried to refresh my list of questions (in a separate tab), and it failed with the same error:

   This page isn’t working
support.mozilla.org is currently unable to handle this request.
   HTTP ERROR 502

Thanks

The HyperText Transfer Protocol (HTTP) 502 Bad Gateway server error response code indicates that the server, while acting as a gateway or proxy, received an invalid response from the upstream server.

Note: A Gateway might refer to different things in networking and a 502 error is usually not something you can fix, but requires a fix by the web server or the proxies you are trying to get access through.

As for the page your using as a example it is not a good example for us. If you get the issue in everyday browsing then would suggest something but your only talking about the page you posted.

Thanks for the response, but I don't understand your statement that the page I quoted was not a good example. The page/URL quoted was not an example, it was (one of) the page(s) on which the problem was occurring, i.e. it mainly happened while I was trying to post on this site - the Mozilla support site - how else am I supposed to report a problem with this site? (Usually it is helpful to supply as much info as possible, such as URLs, to assist support resources with their investigation).

From the error message subsequently posted in my update at 04:08 am, the problem would seem to be further confirmed as being on http://support.mozilla.org/, so applying your answer, this is something only Mozilla support can fix as it is on their server (i.e. it was not an intervening or local gateway).

If I am misunderstanding something maybe you tell me what.

Thanks

Hi, and I said find another page as it is not a good example of the issue.

We are logged in, that page is for making a login. So being logged in does not work. Also if this is the only page that it happens on then it is unique to you.

If this is not happening any where else and this page is no longer needed by you as you now have a account then it is not relevant anymore to any one.

You want to Refresh, uninstall and reinstall and make and test a new profile. Sure can go ahead with all that if you feel like wasting your time.

Ok, let's go at it then : Try Firefox Safe Mode to TEST & see if the problem goes away. Firefox Safe Mode is a troubleshooting mode that temporarily turns off hardware acceleration, resets some settings, and disables add-ons (extensions and themes).

If Firefox is open, you can restart in Firefox Safe Mode from the Help menu:

  • Click the menu button New Fx Menu, click Help Help-29 and select Restart with Add-ons Disabled.

If Firefox is not running, you can start Firefox in Safe Mode as follows:

  • On Windows: Hold the Shift key when you open the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
  • On Mac: Hold the option key while starting Firefox.
  • On Linux: Quit Firefox, go to your Terminal and run firefox -safe-mode
(you may need to specify the Firefox installation path e.g. /usr/lib/firefox)

When the Firefox Safe Mode window appears, select "Start in Safe Mode".

SafeMode-Fx35

If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, theme, or hardware acceleration. Please follow the steps in the Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems article to find the cause.

To exit Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before opening Firefox for normal use again.

When you figure out what's causing your issues, please let us know. It might help others with the same problem.
