Firefox always ask with which application open file (even though default is selected already)
I have a file type which I always want to open with particular application. In options for that particular type I selected "always open with app x". In the download dialog file type is correctly selected (even with additional "default"), "always open with" is also checked but! The dialog is shown while the app should be opened immediately without showing the window.
How can I fix it so the desired is opened automatically without any additional window?

What type of file are you talking about? What program do you use for it?
Type about:preferences#applications<enter> in the address bar. Use the search bar at the top of the page.

What is listed for that file type? Now check the computer. What program is listed for that file?
It's .torrent file and qBittorrent.

I've been having the same issue. It started a month or so ago. I also checked everything out.
It is not the file extension that matters, but the MIME (content) type that the server sends that determines whether an automatic action works. If that MIME type isn't valid then Firefox will ask.
As you can see in two screenshots that I posted yesterday (and explicitly commented on it!) - the mime type is correct!

Bottomline - it looks like some weird bug in Fx - should I report it in bugtrack then?
