To restore the jumplist, do the following:
- Enter
about:configin the Firefox address bar - Set the
browser.taskbar.lists.enabledboolean totrue - Set the
browser.taskbar.lists.tasks.enabledboolnea totrue

You say desktop as a keyword problem but your not mentioning where this is from the Firefox Icon in the Taskbar ? If so please delete that after shutting Firefox down. Find Firefox,exe and pin a new copy to the Taskbar.
