Note: Some extensions have been updated to require features from Firefox 54 or later. You can use an extension's "Versions" page to find the latest compatible version (each version shows a range).

For Firefox 52 ESR, I think it would be this one:

https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/new-tab-override/versions/?page=1#version-6.0.1

I tried New Tab Override - works great! ... except my home page is a local file. I would like to have a new tab open my home page but FF 62 no longer allows extensions to access local files.

Any suggestions?

EDIT: Never mind. I just figured it out with New Tab Override.

Hi LeeU, New Tab Override has a feature to read in a local HTML file so it can be displayed without going out to disk. That isn't as fully featured as a local file could be, but I can't recall the limitations. It may be discussed on the Add-ons site or the author's site.

Thanks, jscher2000. It doesn't use 'outside' files, only the file itself. A little tip: It stores a copy of the file in the extension. I was trying to make changes to the page but they wouldn't display. Then I figured out that the "delete file" link was to delete it. I did that, reloaded the file, and it worked fine!
