Hi BrownieAndie, after installation, there is an extra page encouraging you to create a Firefox Account and/or share data between your different installation of Firefox. That's optional, and you can just close that tab or click the Home button or use the address bar to move onto what you want to see.

On the new tab page and built-in home page, you may see snippets describing different Firefox features and Mozilla services. There's a "gear" icon in the upper right of the page to select which content you want in the page.

Hope that helps.

This may be from sync.

Type about:accounts<enter> in the address bar. [57+] https://accounts.firefox.com/settings

and shut sync down.
