I have just upgraded to Firefox 52.7.3 64 bit and all my bookmarks and history have disappeared!

HI. sorry to hear that. Please check on your desktop for a folder called OldFirefoxProfile. If it is there it maybe possible to rescue some data.

Also please check to see if Firefox just created a new profile and that your old one is still there :

As to Restore, no idea what you are trying to restore from. Win7 ? If so it will not work. If your Profile is not in the places I mentioned then some how it was determined it was corrupted and was deleted. fyi for the future :
