In the past week, I have been unable to print from Firefox. I have changed nothing, and I have now just gone through every permutation from the help section, i.e. check page settings, reset all printer settings (that was scary!), but nothing has worked. The document I was originally trying to print does work from IE, but Mozilla is my default browser. Any easy-to-use instructions to help resolve the problem will be much appreciated, but please note that I am NOT technically-minded so they really will have to be easy to follow.

Hello,

Thanks for responding, but as per my post I am NOT technically-minded, so the instruction "Find the Dos Prompt Right or Powershell Click and Run as Administrator then" doesn't mean anything to me. Sorry, but can you please explain where the Dos prompt is?

Many thanks, Jane

It is buried in the start menu in system tools.

You can open the Command Prompt this way. In the Search Box type : cmd.exe and when found Right Click it and Run as Administrator. Follow the above command by copy/paste or type SFC /Scannow which is typed like this (SFC <leave a space>/Scannow) then enter, reboot after.

Many thanks for the simple explanation, which I followed easily. After the system did what it did, the following was shown: "Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations." I then re-booted the PC, but it hasn't made any difference. :O( Any other suggestions please? And why should it suddenly decide not to print anyway? It had been fine forever...

Hi, Good work on the SFC scan and what it said means now issues. No idea why not printing if prints other things or from other browsers. Possibly a corrupted file.

Did you get the emergency Win 7 update patch today ? If not you should run Windows Update for it. Patching a patch of another patch. http://www.theregister.co.uk/2018/03/29/microsoft_meltdown_out_of_band_patch/

Please give this a try and uninstall Firefox. Then Delete the Mozilla Firefox Folders in C:\Program Files , C:\Program Files(x86) & C:\ProgramData Then restart system. Then run Windows Disk Cleanup. (Note: This should be Pinned and run Weekly, If never done below expect 10's of gig's) Then run it again and click the button that says Cleanup System Files. Note: your Firefox Profile is saved. But you should make a back up before you do :

Reinstall with Current Release Firefox 59.0.2 with a Full Version Installer

Things have now gone from bad to worse! I have carefully followed the instructions, cleaned up system files, deleting where necessary. I have uninstalled Firefox, and have now tried to reinstall it. I get as far as Firefox sending an email with a verification link, only for a Microsoft Office Outlook error message to pop up, saying "This operation has been canceled due to restrictions in effect on this computer. Please contact your system administrator."

I cannot link back to this forum from our previous emails, but have been able to by typing "firefox support" into the search bar.

What makes me now laugh, but with irony, is that I CAN print directly from the Firefox web pages!

Is it essential for us to verify the email please, as it looks as though I can simply carry on as normal as bookmarks are there?

Sorry to be a pain...
