I missed an online deadline because you decided to update ff and it took over a minute. Best to tell me when I logout before update. unimpressed
I know you are nice but when I need into my browser, I need in. Best to have an 'update later' option to let me in now, not once you've done your stuff. My deadline went - please don't let this happen to others

Take control of your updates!
- Windows: "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Options
- Mac: "3-bar" menu button (or Firefox menu) > Preferences
- Linux: "3-bar" menu button (or Edit menu) > Preferences
- Any system: type or paste about:preferences into the address bar and press Enter/Return to load it
Firefox 56-58: In the search box at the top of the page on the right side, type update and Firefox should filter to the "Firefox Updates" section.
Firefox 38-55: In the left column, click Advanced. Then on the right side, click the "Updates" mini-tab active.
Then in All Versions: To control the timing of updates, select "Check for updates but let you choose to install them".
You can expect to see something like the attached when an update is available (the lower panel is what appears when you click Not Now).
