When I open Facebook, everything's fine. As I scroll down my news feed, it begins to slow. It gets worse as I scroll over video posts (you know, the ones that activate until you scroll past). After a few of these, it begins to stutter, then freeze. I close out FF, restart it (which used to work) but with the latest version (55.0.3 - 32 bit), it almost picks up right where it left off. I have to wonder, since FB is one of the most popular browsing sites, does anyone in QA even ATTEMPT to qualify these new releases against it???

I hate when someone "improves" a product and trashes my user experience. Please fix this.

Thanks Fred McD - My flash and driver were up-to-date, what appears to have fixed the issue was turning off the hardware accelerator. I just gave it a test drive now and it's stayed sane far longer than before.

Thanks again.

Update your Flash Player Note: Windows users should download the ActiveX for Internet Explorer. and the plugin for Plugin-based browsers (like Firefox).

Note: Windows 8 and Windows 10 have built-in flash players and Adobe will cause a conflict. Install the plugin only. Not the ActiveX.

Flash Player Version: Version 27.0.0.130

https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/ Direct link scans current system and browser Note: Other software is offered in the download. <Windows Only>

https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/otherversions/ Step 1: Select Operating System Step 2: Select A Version (Firefox, Win IE . . . .) Note: Other software is offered in the download. <Windows Only> +++++++++++++++++++ See if there are updates for your graphics drivers https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/upgrade-graphics-drivers-use-hardware-acceleration

This is not a cure, but should let the web page load without crashing.

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/flashblock/ Flash block Never be annoyed by a Flash animation again! Blocks Flash so it won't get in your way, but if you want to see it, just click on it

or

You can set this pref; media.block-autoplay-until-in-foreground = true

Type about:config<enter> in the address bar. If a warning screen comes up, press the Be Careful button. At the top of the screen is a search bar.

@ FredMcD :

As the OP says that turning off hardware acceleration (as mentioned in one of your posts) is what solved the problem, I think that it is your post that should be marked as 'Chosen Solution' (I'm sure that Rabitt agrees) .....
