Hi, My firefox crashes repeatedly when I visit multiple websites. I also experience "tab crashes" repeatedly. Examples of websites where Firefox crashes include:

- http://www.cnn.com/ - http://www.foxnews.com/

This has only started happening in the last 4 days. I have used Firefox on this machine for over two years. I am using Windows 10, 64-bit on a Dell laptop. My current version of Firefox is 55.0.2 (64-bit).

I have tried to resolve the issue using the below recommended fixes: - Update Firefox - Update your plugins - Update Windows - Update your drivers - Update your Internet Security software - Check for viruses or spyware - Refresh Firefox - Safe mode test.

None of the above solved the problem.

Here are my 3 x last crash reports: https://crash-stats.mozilla.com/report/index/f1f857da-0f0b-4574-bd86-23d140170816 https://crash-stats.mozilla.com/report/index/54ef0baa-a991-4fb4-8689-0d2c81170815 https://crash-stats.mozilla.com/report/index/5cf17874-add1-430b-8770-6abac0170816

Your very first crash is a known bug and has been fixed in Firefox 57. It may be fixed in a sooner release, but otherwise Firefox 57 comes out in november. That said, your other crashes are odd and as far as I can tell aren't fixed.

However, I noticed that all your crashes happened before you updated to Firefox 55.0.2. That update included a fix for certain profiles that would have very weird issues in them. Have you gotten any new crashes since updating to 55.0.2 (it just came out this morning)

You can try to disable hardware acceleration in Firefox.

  • Options/Preferences -> Advanced -> General -> Browsing: "Use hardware acceleration when available"

You need to close and restart Firefox after toggling this setting.

You can check if there is an update for your graphics display driver and check for hardware acceleration related issues.

Hi Tyler. Yes I'm continuing to get new crashes since upgrading to version 55.0.2 (64-bit). What do you suggest?

After you turn off hardware acceleration, if you still see crashes, please give us the new crash ID's

Hi Tyler. I've turned off hardware acceleration, exited and restarted Firefox, and am still getting multiple crashes ("Gah. Your tab just crashed.").

I can't send you new crash IDs because none have been generated (about:crashes). I think this is because Firefox does not auto-generate crash reports for TAB crashes (only full browser crashes). Please advise.

@ Tyler. I am still experiencing multiple tab crashes, despite completing all of the steps in the email string above.

Tab crashes don't generate crash reports, so I can't send you those unfortunately.

I rely heavily on Firefox for work. Please advise what I can do to stop Firefox from crashing.

Thanks!
