Firefox crashes
Firefox started crashing on startup. All OS updates have been installed. System has no other symptoms. Same behavior in safe mode. Last Crash ID: bp-da51be6d-1ab3-47dc-ba41-8d9d41170510 Complete removal and re-installation with same result.

Yes. Today there were several Ubuntu 16.04 system updates that were webkit and java plugin related. These updates restored Firefox to working status.

Did you try a Firefox refresh?
Firefox refresh is a menu item which is useless when Firefox crashes before providing a menu. Since it also crashes in safe mode before providing a menu there is no way to select the refresh option. The program has been completely purged and reinstalled and crashes on startup which suggests the Firefox version has become out of sync with OS updates but it is the most recent version of Firefox for a fully updated Ubuntu 16.04 as far as I can tell.
