Power to my house came on and off a bunch of times and when I started Mozilla it reinstalled itself and i have lost all my data
Power to my apartment came on and off a bunch from the power company working on line in neighborhood. I still have all of my PC files and programs however when I started to get online it wanted to reinstall Firefox. I just thought it was an update or something but it imported my information from Microsoft Explorer. I do not have any of my bookmarks or information on Firefox at least a year's worth of stuff is completely gone. What happened? Can I retrieve a backup of Firefox? or am i just out of luck?

The number of bookmarks in the second post is 885 (12-16-2016) and that is a lot less that the 1697 bookmarks count (12-14-2016) that shows in the first post. So you have lost quite a lot of bookmarks during the past days.
You can backup the current bookmarks and try to restore the compressed .jsonlz4 backup with the 1697 count.
The name of a JSON bookmarks backup file includes a total item count (folders and separators included) and an hash value to prevent saving the same backup more than once.
- bookmarks-YYYY-MM-DD_<item count>_<hash>.jsonlz4.

I can't promise anything at this point, but I'll certainly try to help you.
The first thing that comes to mind is: had you enabled firefox sync before the power cut? If you did, then the simplest way to get everything back is probably just to sign back into sync and things should all get downloaded automatically.
The next thing we can check that would be an easy fix would be to restore a backup of bookmarks. Firefox automatically stores some backups of bookmarks for such eventualities. To check if this can help you in this situation please do the following:
- Click the bookmarks button
- Click Show All Bookmarks
- Click Import and Backup
- Hover over restore to view a list of backed up bookmark files
- Click one of the dates to revert to that bookmarks list
If we are unlucky, and both of those things haven't worked, or if you need more than just bookmarks, then I would suggest that we start looking for your old firefox profile - it sounds like your profile isn't being loaded properly. Firefox profiles are a folder on your computer that stores all of your bookmarks, history etc. If you're curious you can read more about them here https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/profiles-where-firefox-stores-user-data
Perhaps the first step could be for you to locate the folder where your profiles are stored and seeing if your old profile folder is still there! Ordinarily there should only be one profile folder, so if you have more than one then we're probably in luck! To find the folder where all the profiles are stored, type about:profiles into firefox, and click the top "Open Directory" button, and then go "up" one directory. There should be one crash reports folder, and then hopefully two other folders, one of which is your old one!
If your old profile is there, then please get back to me and we can move onto restoring some of your stuff!

Go to your local department / electronics store and look around for a UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) that is useful for you. The lowest price is $50 + -. There are also units on the market that plug into the computer. So if the battery gets low, will shut down the computer to protect it.
DavidPost-1 I found what looks like 2 different folder locations for my bookmark backups and probably more. Looks like my all my old firefox info before the screwy stuff with my power and then a new file from where it reloaded all new. I've attached pictures from my pc screen that i took. Please let me know which file(s) I need to access and how to do that if you can please. I will do 2 different posts the 1st with the pics of what i think is my old info that i need and the 2nd post being the new file. FredMcD Thanx for the advise on the UPS battery back-up. good and solid and it appears that i will have to for the apt that i'm living at. I've never lived in a place before that has as much power fluctuation going on.

Restore Bookmark Backups
Firefox automatically makes backups of the bookmarks. These are stored in the bookmarkbackups folder.
Open the Bookmarks Manager; Press the Alt or F10 key bring up the tool bar, and select Bookmarks. Hot key is <Control>(Mac=<Command>) <Shift> B.
Once the window is open, at the top of the page, press the button labeled Import and Backup. Select Restore. From the list, pick the file you want and click it.
The backups are stored in a jsonlz4 file named something like this; bookmarks-2016-06-29_1424_enD1GTHya0JmicnYWg4V4g==.jsonlz4 In this example; 2016-06-29 = date created, 1424 = number of entries.
