encryption advocacy

Ever since I implemented encryption on my own website every link I have to any other site is blocked. This is not a complaint against Firefox or any other browser. All modern browsers are simply implementing the industry standard. I want the browsers to do that. The problem is not the browser it is the stupid commercial businesses who think that in 2016 it is not necessary to encrypt the information that they exchange with their customers. But when I complain to these businesses they very politely collect my information and then once I hang up the phone they clearly chuck it into the trash. In particular I am upset that Ancestry, one of the largest commercial collectors of private information about its customers, refuses to implement encryption on its site. I am looking for suggestions of how to get through to the senior management of Ancestry and other corporations, that this is simply unacceptable in 2016. I have even threatened to organize a class action lawsuit against Ancestry to demand that they protect its customers' information, but nothing will make them budge. I am looking for suggestions of how to get the attention of the senior management of these corporations to get them to protect the information that I and millions of other clients share with them.

Hi

Thank you for your question.

This does not sound like a support issue with Firefox, but I recommend you get in contact with the Mozilla Advocacy team who may be able to provide further support and guidance.

I went to the Mozilla Advocacy page, but there was no information on how to contact the Mozilla Advocacy team. The contact link at the bottom of the page just takes me to the general contact page, from which I went to the forum to post my issue.

Thank you. However that community seems to be dead. The last posting was a "Hi" on April 14th. The community also has an unnecessarily baroque registration process involving registering with yet another Single-Sign-On service. What is the point of having SSOs if you have to register with a dozen different SSOs in order to participate in the Web? #yasso
