I just bought a new laptop (Windows 10, with Intel 530 graphics card) and the fonts in the url bar seem rather distorted. I took a screenshot to see the same URL in another browser: paulrittman.com/fonts.png

The fonts on the web pages seem pretty much the same, but the url bar font is so different compared to what I'm used to, that it grabs my attention. Is there any way to adjust how the urlbar displays fonts? I did a restart with addons disabled but the issue was the same.

Using updated beta version of FF.

Looks like an easy access UI for many of the font changes I can make in the FF options menu. I did some tinkering after installing the addon, but even changing the fonts, the size, or enabled bold doesn't seem to take away the distorted effect I'm seeing. I don't know if it is the graphics card or not, but as I showed in the screenshot, the issue doesn't appear in another browser, so I doubt it is a cheap graphics card issue.

You can do a font test to see if you can identify corrupted font(s).

You can try different default fonts and temporarily disable website fonts to test the selected default font.

  • Tools > Options > Content : Fonts & Colors > Advanced

Just did a test. I'm not sure what was supposed to have happened, but that site said that I had 250 fonts installed, and then gave me a sentence displayed in each of those fonts. I didn't see any error messages, so I suppose that means that nothing was found wrong.

This is not about seeing an error message, but about whether a font show as it should and not as a different font.

I do not know what font Firefox is using by default for the user interface and the location/address bar in Windows 10.

I looked over the fonts in that website. They all looked pretty decent--like the fonts were supposed to look.

Times New Roman is the default font for FF, and I have not changed anything in this profile. I"m not sure what the font that is being displayed in the URL bar is; but it was a different font from one in the other browser, in my screenshot.

The built-in Inspector doesn't work for the user interface, so you would have to use the DOM Inspector to check what font is used in the location/address bar.
