Previous Solutions suggest the ClearType setup process may have to be rerun (with ClearType temporarily disabled for good measure), or you may need to switch gfx.content.azure.enabled and gfx.direct2d.disabled or hardware acceleration to get things back to normal. Did you check if there is an update available for the graphics display driver?

Usually you will get nicer fonts with hardware acceleration enabled. One exception might be Helvetica Neue, which you can work around and shouldn't affects most sites.

Our support article suggests safe places to check for driver updates (yours are from 2009, so maybe...): Upgrade your graphics drivers to use hardware acceleration and WebGL.
