My googlemail is blocked because of a forgotten password, but the google procedure for recovery keeps sending me round in circles.
My Googlemail account froze a few days ago, and I had to use the recovery procedure to unfreeze it, which involved a series of new passwords, supplied by Google, which I was told I would not need to memorize or note down. After a few hours of successful working, the program froze again and so I am unable to receive or transmit any e-mail messages. Google asks me to use the "forgotten password" procedure, but I no longer know which password is operative, and I keep being sent in a circle coming back to the same pages. I would be grateful for any positive suggestions, and thank you in advance.

Dear Philipp, I do understand: part of the reason for my distress was the apparent complete lack of any helpline or other form of assistance provided by Google. However, I think (and hope) that I have inadvertently stumbled across a solution, though I'm painfully aware that I don't know how I did it, and could not repeat it if the need arose again. I did note however that Google in its advice seems to use the word"passport" in a whole range of meanings, and fails to be specific about which sense it is being used in a particular case.
