Sometimes, slowdowns are caused by web pages using flash. This is not a cure, but should let the web page load without crashing.

Flash block {web link} Never be annoyed by a Flash animation again! Blocks Flash so it won't get in your way, but if you want to see it, just click on it

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web Link} by holding down the <Shift>
(Mac Options) key, and then starting Firefox. Is the problem still there?

Type about:support in the address bar and press Enter. Under the main banner, press the button; Copy Text To Clipboard.. Then in the reply box at the bottom of this page, do a right click in the box and select Paste. This will show us your system details. No Personal Information Is Collected.

This is not a crashing issue or slow performance. Firefox will not open unless you re-install it. After the install Firefox opens and works just fine without issue (mostly) but once you close Firefox you have to re-install if you want to use it again.

Experimental Features

Have you tried Flash block or Firefox in Safe Mode

I tried the Safe Mode option on the first computer we noticed the issue on not the one with the above posted system details as so far today I've been able to close and reopen Firefox after just one re-install this morning.

On the other computer I first re-installed Firefox but on this computer Firefox will not open after the install but is listed as a running process.

I then held down the shift key and double clicked the icon but still did not open nor did I get the safe mode prompt.

I then held down the shift key and right-clicked the icon and selected open and then I got a select profile pop-up. I selected the profile of the user name and Firefox opened.

I closed Firefox and tried the same two methods above to open and then neither worked. After 3 or 4 more attempts I was able to get the profile pop-up using the right-click method but after selecting the profile Firefox still did not open.

I will try this on all the computers we are having this same issue on later.

Forgot to mention I do "kill" the process after each attempt before trying again.

Do you have the Firefox icon on your quick launch? Right click on it, and select Open New Window. Sometimes this works. If it opens, close it by Menu > File > Exit.
