I am using windows 7 professional 64 bit on an HP probook.

I have been having this problem now for a week. I can't even respond to help answers left for a previous question: When I open Firefox and go to "help" it usually takes me to the main website. Also, I can type in mozilla.com and go to the main website and thus navigate from there to where I need to be.

However, through my firefox browser, I only see a list of things. No graphics, no website. It is extremely frustrating because there will be a line that says "ask a question" and even though I am following the sentences it just goes in circles. There is no way to get anywhere, it's all lines and lists of text, no graphics, no links, nothing like what I see when I use chrome to get to this page.

Can anyone tell me how to fix it? What has caused that, so I can remedy it. I did uninstall and reinstall, but got the same issue. thanks in advance. (i have responses to a previous question but can't use firefox to get to them, however firefox does work to go to websites, BUT I must say now I am ALWAYS seeing this warning "get me outta here" and it happens on every website, all on websites I would go to all the time. I don't peruse dangerous sites Again, thanks in advance. It is the weirdest thing... Gina

fixed the indent in the 2nd and 3rd lines, which was producing a horz scrollbar

Hello,

    • Click the menu button New Fx Menu, click on help Help-29 and select Troubleshooting Information.
    • Type about:support into the Firefox address bar and press the enter key.
  2. At the top of the Troubleshooting Information page that comes up, you should see a button that says "Copy text to clipboard". Click it.
  3. Now, go back to your forum post, right-click in the reply box and select Paste from the context menu (or else click inside the reply box and press the Ctrl+V keys) to paste all the information you copied into the forum post.

If you need further information about the Troubleshooting information page, please read the article Use the Troubleshooting Information page to help fix Firefox issues.

I did that, and it still has the same problem. I used to click Firefox help, and it brought me to this page. But I also used firefox and typed in the search bar: mozilla.com, which would also bring me to the main site. It doesn't -- it only brought me to this same thing: (I took a screen shot, I hope I did it right)

Your information, above shows; Your profile folder contains a user.js file, which includes preferences that were not created by Firefox.

Delete a possible user.js file and numbered prefs-##.js files and rename (or delete) the prefs.js file to reset all prefs to the default http://kb.mozillazine.org/Preferences_not_saved

Have you tried Firefox in Safe Mode yet?

Where do I find this? I opened the firefox. I don't see anything that says preferences. That article you put the link into means nothign to me, I don't know about js files. I just need to know where to find preferences so I can delete js files. I also don't know why uninstalling and re-installing did not take care of this.

No I clicked the wrong button. I don't have either of those things. Yes, I did try Firefox in safemode. I tried everything listed, but I can't find a profile or preference folder that may or may not have a js file. I don't see any category of profile, to look for a js file. Unless I'm looking in the wrong place. Why has this browser become so complicated? I used to use it always, my go to browser. Now I use chrome, which I am beginning to like, but I still have having a view that includes, file, edit, etc. and firefox has all those. It just seems that over this year, each time especially during an update, there are changes that I question if they really improve. Sometimes you can't improve on a really good thing.

I've never had so many problems that i had to do things like this. Or I got a quick solution here that took care of the problem quickly.

This is so sad. This website is marginally useless. Each website, I go through that stupid yellow strips like police tape with the "get me outta here" and I know it's a safe site and more clicks. Some sites that are good I don't even have an option. I am not using it as my default browser.

Then when I went to search using yahoo, yahoo.com, I got this long list again just like when I tried to go to mozilla.com.

I am going to try the above after I take the survey I see. I hope that will work. Gina

I think the get me out of here is being triggered by your Kaspersky security as I have had this on my PC. I'll do a bit of research in the AM as its now night time in the UK. I'll be in touch

I hope I am not deleting too many .js. I am deleting the js file and everything with js in it.

I can't believe I went through all that, and it didn't change anything except make me go through the preferences again. Mozilla.com still opens o nohting but lines of text, as does yahoo.com. I took a screen shot.

This is sickening. How do I jus get rid of this and download a new one? That should work but didn't. There must be a way to get rid of this and just start fresh. this screen shot is what i get when I go to mozilla.com

That is not what I am used to seeing.
