can't connect to the internet, after running refresh program last week
Last Friday, July 3rd, I ran the refresh program hoping to fix problems with connecting to the internet. After running it, I can no longer connect to the internet. I checked on the Mozilla site, it said my version of Firefox was up to date, so I don't quite know where to turn next?? Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Gary S.

HI Gary, Please check the Network settings in Firefox to make sure they are optimized for the computer's internet connection. These settings are located here:

Some problems occurs when your Internet security program was set to trust the previous version of Firefox, but no longer recognizes your updated version as trusted. Now how to fix the problem: To allow Firefox to connect to the Internet again;
- Make sure your Internet security software is up-to-date (i.e. you are running the latest version).
- Remove Firefox from your program's list of trusted or recognized programs. For detailed instructions, see
Configure firewalls so that Firefox can access the Internet. {web link}
Do you get an error page or does the window stay empty (blank)?
When you reset/refresh Firefox then a new profile is created and some personal data (bookmarks, history, cookies, passwords, form data) is automatically imported. The current profile folder will be moved to an "Old Firefox Data" folder on the desktop. Installed extensions and other customizations (toolbars, prefs) that you have made are lost and need to be redone.
It is possible to recover data from the old profile, but be cautious not to copy corrupted files to avoid carrying over problems.

You can try to copy the cert8.db file from the "Old Firefox Data" folder on the desktop to the current Firefox profile folder.
You can use this button to go to the current Firefox profile folder:
