No matter what I seem to do, message "plug-in may be busy - continue or stop script" or something close to that, keeps coming up again and again and my PC hangs especially video have a Toshiba Portege running Windows 7 Pro. Have refreshed Firefox but no help. Also keep getting messages regarding Adobe requesting more bytes. Have been to Adobe site but while lots of chatter regarding these type of errors, no real fix seems to be available. I am an older woman, not a techie or 16 years old so these type of problems are really difficult for me if the directions on how to do something are not minute. I appreciate any help I can get and hope I have outlined what is happening somewhat clearly. Thank you very much for your kind attention.

Maybe addressing the second issue will help with the first one?

The Flash player can store data on your computer if you allow it. This may be an identifier so you can be recognized on different sites, or it could be site-specific data, like your preferences for a game.

You can manage how much data sites can store on your Flash player, and when to ask you for permission. The dialog to manage that can be found here:

http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/settings_manager03.html

I'm not sure what the standard, default setting is; mine currently has the slider set to 10KB.

Below that is a checkbox which says "Never ask again". If you check that, then any site can use up to the allotted space without Flash bothering you about it.

If you ever want to clear out all the data sites are storing in Flash, you can use this page:

http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/settings_manager07.html

Hopefully that will help with the second problem, and possibly with the first.

HI ffferrara66, It may be easiest to uninstall and reinstall the Flash Player.

This is complicated - not for you - but for me as I cannot back up my computer files and am truly afraid I will ruin something. I do not live anywhere near a place to get my pc fixed nor could I afford it. I see lots of programs that advise that they can fix this but they don't unless you know of one that absolutely can? I have paid for 2 that do not do a thing but empty my junk files. With some many complaints about this I cannot see why Adobe is not held to putting out a fix. However, I thank you very much for taking the time to answer. I do appreciate it even if I can't follow the directions you gave.

Thank you - I think. I was able to put in your first dialog manager line And I did at least change the Never Ask Again setting, if nothing else. I will see if I get any more pop-ups or if it really helped. At least I was Able to do that much so again - thank you very much for taking the time To answer me, I was at my wit's end and didn't know what to do. This At least was something. Wish I could send you a cup of coffee and some Blueberry pie - my idea of a thank you.
