Settings icon is missing. Please spare me of self-righteous denial and nonsense excuses. The settings option is simply gone, kaput, no more. Rather than assuming the user is always wrong, consider fixing the bug instead.

"Partial" Solution for those using a custom ROM (CM11 in my case) is as follows:

/Settings/Buttons/Enable on-screen nav bar.

This will swap "hardware" buttons for virtual buttons and will also offer the lovely option of enabling cursor keys! Note also, that this configuration can be customized. Also note that I have enabled "developer options" which may or may not make a diffetrence. Finally, please pardon the caustic tone above; some will understand and some won't.

Hello,

A lot of people don't realise that most of us providing support here are volunteers. We're offering help during our own free time and appreciate a little politeness and courtesy.

There should be a menu button (looks like three dots) near the top right of the screen. Can you see the menu button? Is it a case that you can see the button, but the settings option has vanished from the list? Did this happen recently?

Have you installed any addons recently? If so, it would be worth disabling them and seeing whether it solves the issue.

A screenshot would be helpful.

Re read my original post. My impoliteness is prophylaxis for your style of reply. No "three dots", and no options or addons.

apparently the task switching button on your device also acts as menu/settings-key. please refer to the thread at http://forums.androidcentral.com/samsung-galaxy-tab-pro-8-4/370593-samsung-tabpro-8-4-menu-button-gives-task-manager-but-won-t-give-menu-app-being-used.html

Nonsense! I once had the icon, on this same device. Stop witchhunting and focus on the bug. This is precisely why I don't bother with ff forums; they're full of irrelevant, pedantic blather.
