Sounds like Firefox is crashing on you. Please follow the steps below to provide us crash IDs to help us learn more about your crash.

  1. Enter about:crashes in the Firefox address bar and press Enter. A Submitted Crash Reports list will appear, similar to the one shown below.
  2. Copy the 5 most recent Report IDs that start with bp- and then go back to your forum question and paste those IDs into the "Post a Reply" box.

Note: If a recent Report ID does not start with bp- click on it to submit the report.

(Please don't take a screenshot of your crashes, just copy and paste the IDs. The below image is just an example of what your Firefox screen should look like.)

It looks like every one of those crashes are related to Norton / Symantec products, either directly or indirectly. Is Norton completely up to date? Have you run a Live update recently for updates for the various things that Norton installs?

Norton Symantec is updated everyday throughout the day with all norton products. I am very familiar with Norton and this is not the solution to the problem trust me. It is something else as this was happening for quite awhile now. Some added toolbar and anti-virus add-ons are known to cause Firefox issues. Disable All of them.


Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link} While you are in safe mode;

Type about:preferences#advanced<Enter> in the address bar.

Under Advanced, Select General. Look for and turn off Use Hardware Acceleration.

Poke around safe web sites. Are there any problems?

Various DLLs that are part of Norton show in the crashing thread and some have a DLL in the signature.

This is a problem with Norton Confidential and you will have to disable this component for now and contact Norton for support.


Also make sure that your graphics display drivers are up to date.

In the address bar, type about:crashes<enter>. Note: If any reports do not have BP in front of the numbers, click it and select Submit.

Using your mouse, mark the most resent 7 - 10 crash reports, and copy them. Now go to the reply box below and paste them in.
