Try upgrading to Firefox 33.0.1 - there have been performance updates and some users have claimed to have a better browsing experience.
Either go to:
- Help (or > ) > About Firefox
Or download a fresh copy at:
- (for a different localization) https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all/
If that doesn't help, I am wondering if it's just a slow script on the page. If that were the case there isn't much you can do; you can try downloading an extension such as NoScript, allow scripts globally, and then disable one by one to make sure that you maintain the functionality of the page. But this is an odd way to make only one site work (I am assuming you are only experiencing this not responding problem only on this site).

Hello,
Sometimes antivirus extensions cause browsing issues in Firefox. Try disabling McAfee while on your email program to see if it still crashes.
If after disabling McAfee the site still crashes, enable that plugin again if you wish. Please follow the steps below to provide us crash IDs to help us learn more about your crash.
- Enter about:crashes in the Firefox address bar and press Enter. A Submitted Crash Reports list will appear, similar to the one shown below.
- Copy the 5 most recent Report IDs that start with bp- and then go back to your forum question and paste that into the "Post a Reply" box. (Please don't take a screenshot of your crashes, just copy and paste the ID's. The below image is just an example of what your Firefox screen should look like)
Thank you for your help!
More information and further troubleshooting steps can be found in the Troubleshoot Firefox crashes (closing or quitting unexpectedly) article.
I tried turning off McAfee and it did seem better for a while but then went back to the same problem. I am not having a crash, just a temporary (not responding) message and then it works for a while; then the whole thing repeats. It seems worse when I am actually composing an email or responding to one.
