I want to have Firefox cease and desist prompting me for an update. How can I do this? I just keep selecting "Ask me later". Is there a more permanent fix?

Giải pháp được chọn

Well, it seems that neither of these problems can be repaired so I'll just live with them. Thanks.

Is there a reason you don't want to update? Using old and out of date versions of Firefox leaves you vulnerable to all the security holes found at https://www.mozilla.org/security/known-vulnerabilities/firefox.html, plus having to deal with a slower, less modern web.

I am using v. 28 and have no intention of updating. From what I've been reading on the forums the later versions have many more problems than I have with the one I use. I just want FF to stop annoying the crap out of me!

Can you point out what problems the newer versions seem to have? They are actually quite a bit faster plus being WAY more stable.

Need I say more? I have none of these problems with FF v. 28 so I am not going to update. The only problem I have with 28, and I'm not sure it IS 28's fault, is that there are multiple choices when right clicking for copy, paste, cut, etc. See this link......

You were involved in answering that question, to which I never received a satisfactory solution. Cheers.

All of those are problems individual users were having with Firefox and weren't actual issues in the browser (they were caused by third-party apps, corrupt profiles, user error, etc.)

You could go and find a similar list for every version of Firefox, including 28 ;) When you have a product used by hundreds of millions of users every day and with so many other environmental variables, then it stands to reason that a small minority of users will have issues. That doesn't mean these issues are endemic to Firefox though.

This is total BS. The author of this post wants to stop being reminded to update to a browser he does not want, and the supposed 'help' he gets does not ever come close to addressing the issue he is asking for help on. This is the very definition of poor help.
