They work okay for me.

Many site issues can be caused by corrupt cookies or cache.

• Clear the Cache and

• Remove Cookies Warning ! ! This will log you out of sites you're logged in to.

Type about:preferences<Enter> in the address bar.

• Cookies; Select Privacy. Under History, select Firefox will Use Custom Settings. Press the button on the right side called Show Cookies. Use the search bar to look for the site. Note; There may be more than one entry. Remove All of them.
• Cache; Select Advanced > Network. Across from Cached Web Content, Press Clear Now.

If there is still a problem, Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link} While you are in safe mode;

Type about:preferences<Enter> in the address bar

Select Advanced > General. Look for and turn off Use Hardware Acceleration.

Poke around safe web sites. Are there any problems?

Then restart.

If you didn't intentionally install the Amazon and Ebay shopping add-ons (many users get them unintentionally), you can disable them on the Add-ons page. Either:

• Ctrl+Shift+a
• "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons

In the left column, click Extensions.

To remove them and other Spigot software, you may need to use the Windows Control Panel, Uninstall a Program. Clicking the "Installed on" column heading may be useful in uncovering bundles that include other surprises.

These sites have nothing to do with eBay or Amazon. Perhaps you intended to post this answer on a different question.

Actually I was a little hasty in saying it is solved - OER Center is working ok but MentorCloud still disappears.

Now the OER Center has also quit working. I had to log off to check something for a user. When I logged back on the site started going to the error page again. I think the reason the sites work for you is that you are not logged on. This is the URL for the error message that comes up on OER Center

I only did the cookie and cache changes, not the Safe mode. Frankly it scares me because there are no instructions about how to put things back after making these changes. I will try it later after the presentation I need to do today. For now I will use Safari during the presentation. I wish there were an easy way to go back to the previous version of FIreFox. I do not see why the blame for the problems should be put on OER Center and MentorCloud when their sites work fine on the previous FF.

Hi jackyhood, my comment about add-ons you might want to remove was based on the "More System Details" link to the right of your post.

Trying Firefox's Safe Mode is a nondestructive way to discover whether any of your extensions is causing an issue -- it is a standard diagnostic tool to deactivate extensions, some advanced features, and some custom settings. More info: Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode.

You can restart Firefox in Safe Mode using either

• "3-bar" menu button > "?" button > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
• (menu bar) Help menu > Restart with Add-ons Disabled

Note: Flash and other plugins still run

After Firefox closes, a small dialog should appear: click "Start in Safe Mode" (not Reset)

Any difference?

To return to normal mode, simply exit Firefox and start it up again normally.

Thank you for solving this problem. I tried clicking on Mark as Solved in the email message but that did not return me to this page so I clicked on "That doesn't...."

I retract what I wrote earlier about 32.0.3 being the cause of the problem. I checked my other computer where the sites are working OK on Firefox. That machine also has 32.0.3.

Before your latest message, I uninstalled FireFox and then downloaded it and installed it again. Shock! When it started, it still had all my home pages and I was even still logged onto some sites. I could not believe it. This means that the uninstallation left a lot of data on my computre or that Mozilla is storing my settings on its servers. Either method seems like a problem. On the other hand, if I uninstalled Word, I would not expect that all my Word files would disappear. I would expect that my Word settings would not appear in the next installation.

Based on your assurance that Safe Mode is Safe (unlike Windows Safe mode that is very dangerous!), I tried it. The sites worked OK. As soon as I went back to Normal mode, they quit working.

So I removed all the extensions (including Amazon and eBay) except the one from Norton and two related to FireFox. Now the two websites are OK. I still do not understand how Amazon and eBay can relate to OER Center and MentorCloud. Also, these sites were working fine until 2 days ago; I have not been on Amazon in weeks except from my Kindle and I have not been on eBay for years. When I debug circuits, I can usually find the root cause but software works in mysterious ways.

Hi jackyhood, I agree that software works in mysterious ways.

When you run Firefox's uninstaller, it asks whether you want to remove personal data, which includes your settings folder with bookmarks, history, etc. Good thing you kept it or else there would be a lot of rebuilding to do! But if you had removed your personal data during that process, then when you reinstalled Firefox, it would have looked like a new user sees it.

I used the Microsoft Windows 7 uninstaller on the control panel and was not asked any questions. I found both an old version 10.something as well as 32.0.3. I uninstalled the old one and then asked to uninstall the new one and was told it was already uninstalled.
