Firefox keeps crashing on Stackexchange websites

Posted

When I'm on Stackexchange websites, FF keeps crashing on Windows 7. Colleague has the same problem too. I tried with uninstalling, restarting with adds on disabled and with new profile. None of them worked. When I use noscript, it appears it doesn't crash as much as it used to be.

Problem exists in both release and beta channels.

My crash reports: beta: bp-ae62ef75-f1d8-41ac-a381-427eb2140818 0b22b022-48de-419a-91a0-5db752140818 3dcfa1c4-d412-4251-890d-2068c2140818 release: e54df498-a510-49e8-b515-9d6be2140818

Hello, kaskavalci!

I looked at your crash report, and in the "Crash Reason" section, I got this response, EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION_READ. That means some plugins are not allowing you to read the site, and it crashed from requesting to many times. I will view your plugins, and see if there is an plugins that are blocking you from reading it.

Thanks,

Ryan Weaber.

Are there any plugins being used or are other media players involved?

You can check for issues caused by plugins and set all plugins to "Ask to Activate" on the "Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Plugins" page (plugins are not affected by Firefox Safe Mode)

Hello cor-el,

Thanks for your answer. All of my plugins are already "Ask to activate". Here is a screenshot of what I have. Definitely it seems like a plugin problem but none of them are activated and no fancy things there.

Edit: It seems I skipped Shockwave Flash player which is always active. I turned that off and tried again but still FF crashes. Latest crash logs: bp-e87753f7-3f47-4f47-8bb4-f56c42140821 bp-dbdd8a7b-9903-4c00-b3c7-d85c82140821 bp-7b423216-49c7-4193-92e1-5ec162140821
