Why am I getting this message when I try and send an email from my Mozilla email client: Sending of the message failed. The message could not be sent because the connection to Outgoing server (SMTP) smtp.gmail.com timed out. Try again.

I have frequent problems with message filter settings and these problems have been occurring through several of the last Thunderbird versions. All message filters frequently lose "Move message to.." information. "Enabled" check boxes become unchecked "Run selected filter(s) on:... " specified file keeps changing.

When I login into Thunderbird, I continue getting the following error message "Login to server imap.comcast.net with username kfn.appraiser@comcast.net failed". I put in correct password and happens again. Mail server is Comcast. Running Windows 11

I have had to replace my laptop and am trying to set up my new one with an existing outlook account on the new device.

It is a Windows 11 device.

I have used the exact server settings etc from my old lap top for the outlook account but get a variety of error messages.

I have explored the use of the Account Hub and also switched that off/on. Same situation.

I attach five screen captured images so far. The first is the version of TB. The second is the window that appears when the account tries to connect and thirdly the small pop up that appears bottom right hand corner of laptop. The remaining two show the server settings and that they passed the connection test.

Other email accounts (gmail & yahoo) have both been set up on the new device and work well.

The account worked on the old laptop and continues to do so. I have set up the outlook account with, to the best of my knowledge, the same settings. The old lap top was a windows 10 device. The new laptop does not have a third party antivirus on it.

I am baffled as to what is happening and what I should do next. Any advice would be great.

Hi, I use thunderbird as both POP and IMAP through gmail. I keep all my emails on my POP thunderbird desktop client. I use IMAP on my thunderbird laptop client, iPhone, iPad via Apple mail when remote, then download the emails to my desktop.

What I want to do is read emails and set them to archive on my IMA laptop, iPhone, iPad. I know Gmail tags the archived emails. How do I stop thunderbird from downloading the archived emails to my POP thunderbird desktop client?

I am trying to add an email address to thunderbird it is an outlook email address [edited]@outlook.com I have checked the address and the password and both are correct however thunderbird says that the configuration is incorrect and will not accept it. also I have it open in another browser window will that cause problems ?

In one email account the arriving messages arrive shown as "read". before they showed "unread" and were bold. I've tried but can't figure out how to reverse that. a different email account on the same reader shows new messages

Comcast/Xfinity email services have migrated to Yahoo. Using Thunderbird I cannot send out a reply. the error message is "Login to server smtp.mail.yahoo.com with username leifsvensen failed."

I am getting emails in, but for some reason it is not asking for a password when I open up Thunderbird. I would like it to ask for a password every time I open Thunderbird.

outgoing mailbox settings: Server name: smtp.mail.yahoo.com Port:465 security: SSL/TLS Authentication: normal password user: leifsvensen

I have also tried it with authentication turned off and get the same result.

Bei manchen PDF Dateien 2,7 MB bekomme ich die Fehlermeldung Datei beschädigt. im Originalpostfach ( t- online ) Zugang über Internet ist der Anhang ok. Wenn ich die Datei vom Server direkt ( z.B. t-online nochmals an meine E- Mail Adresse sende und dann über mein Thunderbirth Mailprogramm öffne, ist die Datei ok. Der selbe Effekt tritt auch auf meinem Lapptop mit Linux Betriebssystem auf. Was kann die Ursache sein?

Now I have Tbird running on my Android with all my email accounts in it. However; my PC version (Win 11) is like a first install. Blank slate. It asks about some "Hub" thing and I don't understand exactly what it is asking for. Outlook name and password? Mozilla account name and password? Some other username and password? Can't transfer anything from mobile to PC (not good). Any way to fix this? Don't tell me I might have to go back to Outlook...

Hi, my folders have disappeared, apart from my inbox - including sent, junk, deleted. How do I recover them please? I've tried the suggestions from Google, but nothing works.

Also, as a separate issue, I can't now send or receive emails from my iPhone, but can from my Mac? On my phone, I get a message saying that the server is not responding. I have tried entering my server details but it doesn't work. The message says 'bad certificate format - 9,808'. This happened overnight and I hadn't changed anything. How do I fix this please, in order to send and receive messages on my phone.

Okay. So, I changed my email password on my email server, HIS.COM (Heller Information Services, a local email server company in Bethesda, MD.) I am able to access my email on webmail, (which I hate to use), on both my laptop and on my desktop. Yesterday, I could access it on my desktop, but not my laptop. Just now, I was trying to uninstall and install Thunderbird on my laptop and it would keep just rebooting my old non-working program. Then, the worst possible thing happened. By screwing around on my laptop program, I somehow knocked out my desktop Thunderbird, and it no longer works. I am happy to pay for help. I just made a donation. I need someone to call me and walk me through this. I think I changed something that I cannot change back.

Перестали отправляться письма с почтового ящика gmail.com. Соединение с сервером исходящей почты не устанавливается. Разные порты и способы шифрования уже пробовал. помогите решить проблему. Спасибо.
