My computer (pc-windows 10) keeps freezing. Today, when this happened I launched Task Manager and discovered Firefox had opened 68 instances (I had one window open) and was using up 100% of my Core i7 CPU. I was on YouTube at the time.

I'd like to stay with Firefox as I have been using it for years, but this is happening all too often. Is there a way to limit the number of instances that it will generate?

EVERY SINGLE TIME FIREFOX UPDATES THEY OPEN A NEW TAB AND ADVERTISE FEATURES AND GARBAGE I DO NOT CARE ABOUT.

DESPITE EVERY SETTING IMAGINABLE, IT STILL DOES IT. EVERY TIME.

WHY? WHY DO YOU NOT RESPECT YOUR USER'S REQUESTS AND CONTINUE TO DO THIS?

WE ALL REMEMBER THE TIME YOU SHOVED ADVERTISEMENTS INTO IT.

I"D RATHER PAY FOR FIREFOX THAN HAVE THIS RIDICULOUS GARBAGE HAPPEN EVERY TIME YOU UPDATE THE APPLICATION.

MAKE A SETTING FOR THIS OR SOMETHING THAT YOU WON'T JUST IGNORE OR OVERRIDE THE NEXT TIME YOU WANT TO SPAM YOUR ENTIRE USER BASE

Is there anyplace that shows how to use what the new release says on the 146.0. I got the message below when viewing new options in 146.0, but going to settings, sync just wants me to sign in and do a cloud backup.

Doesn't sound like what is in message below that I got after updating to 146.0. From what I found looking around, you are suppose to go to setting, sync, click on backup and choose location. There is no option backup, just an option to sign on. Below is message I got when checking what is in update 146.0:

The last time Firefox updated my Etsy Dashboard would no longer connect. None of the screens I need for my shop would work. Etsy support had me clear my cache and I even did a refresh of Firefox but it still would not work. Etsy's conclusion was it had to be a Firefox issue and they could not help. I had to switch to Chrome to continue working. At some point the issue went away and Etsy's dashboard was working again. Now, after the most recent update it immediately was no longer working again and I am forced to use a different browser. What could be causing this issue related to the updates?

Сегодня обновил Mozilla FireFox до версии 146.0 (64-разрядный). После обновления в панели "закладки" (cntrl+B) появился ненужный мне цвет выделения только что открытой мною вкладки (смотри скриншот). Как поменять данный цвет на менее контрастный ? У меня включена "темная тема", цвет выделения - ядовито-голубой. Хочу изменить его на другой более мягкий цвет. Как это я могу сделать?

Today I updated Mozilla Firefox to version 146.0 (64-bit). After the update, the highlight color of the tab I just opened appeared in the bookmarks bar (Cntrl+B) in an unwanted way (see screenshot). How can I change this color to a less contrasting one? I have the "dark theme" enabled, and the highlight color is a bright blue. I want to change it to a softer color. How can I do this?

After a recent update, the bookmarks menu changed—when you click a certain line, it glows bright blue. I understand this is for ease of use while using bookmarks, but I'm used to leaving this menu open all the time, and after these changes, the blue glow is very distracting.

In light of this, I'd really like to know how to restore the old display, or, if that's not possible, I'd like to see special personalization settings for this type of thing in future updates.

I've installed FF on new computers a few times in the past year and I've noticed that it never syncs the Search settings (things like default search engine, adding StartPage, etc.). Is that by design? Is there a way to make them sync?

idk when exactly this nonsense happen or with which update but thats outrageous.

why the hell it canceled in my setting the check mark at startup for opening previous tabs?! i haven't touched the settings in ages since i set them up so it had to be one of your stupid updates.

fortunatly chatgpt had a solution to bring all my tabs back otherwise i'd fucking rage out.

i'v been using firefox for ages but after this i was really thinking i should switch to something else.

Solved, there is delay of 15 minutes before password appear on other device.

I've labelled this thread as (dec 2025) as there is a lot of issues dating back to years ago so this is mark it down just as a fresh review of the issue.

The only thing I'm looking from a browser is to sync Passwords between Phone and Desktop and for whatever reason Firefox is not doing it. Absolutley nothing gets synced even though both windows 10 and Android browsers have been sync manually with all of the options to be synced.

I've followed all the others people checks of settings, account login etc. and I'm just giving up for now.

For a week my pinned tabs are lost every time I open Firefox. I have checked my settings, they were the same as always. I have de-selected them, closed and re-opened firefox, selected them again, closed and re-opened again, pinned my tabs again. Then closed and re-opened firefox and still they are not there. I have done this multiple time with the same results. This seems to have started after the last update.

When playing YouTube videos in fullscreen mode, the video appears to skip as would be expected with frame drops. However, with stats for nerds open on the videos, no frame drops are reported and buffer health is fine (40+ seconds).

I'm on an up to date version of FireFox, I've tried with hardware acceleration both enabled and disabled, I've tried opening task manager to see if system usage looked weird (it doesn't, although it's not like I can have TM running while the video is playing in fullscreen so hard to tell) and am at a complete loss. All drivers for CPU and GPU are verifiably up to date (did full system check three days ago) and the only conclusion I've been able to come to is that it must be either a problem with FireFox or a problem with YouTube. I've seen no recent reports on any of the forums that I can find pointing to either as the culprit. So if anyone has any further ideas or solutions, I'd love to here them.

Since Version 145.0.2, November 26, 2025, 1. firefox won't print anything anymore. No matter the way that I select something to print (print to PDF, print to printer), firefox won't print anything anymore. The print options screen does pop-up when "print" is selected , but when "print" is selected on the print screen pop-up nothing happens. This includes the "print to PDF" function as no "save to" file folder pop-up opens to select where you want to save the pdf file to. After an update prior to the "Version 145.0.2, November 26, 2025" firefox no longer allows you to move your tabs from their original positions to the left or right along the tab bar in the browser. I use to be able to click on & select one or more tabs and move those tabs anywhere to the left or right of their original position to anyplace along the tabs bar. NOW at present, the only way to move any tab's position is by "right clicking" on the tab, select from the drop down "move tab" and selecting 1 of the 3 options ("Move to start", "move to end", & "move to new window"). You can also add tabs to groups through the "right clicking" process. Unfortunately you can't simply move tabs in any other ways without using those "right click menu options. This is VERY frustrating because I constantly move tabs (or strings of tabs) to better group them without having to add them to specific "groups". And speaking of groups, you can no longer rearrange the tabs in "groups" either.

These are both some of the most basic and general functions for firefox that no longer work in firefox 64 bit on windows 10 OS (my primary PC, but the same holds true on Windows 11). You should also note that recent updates also occured on both Windows 10 & Windows 11. I am still currently able to print from and move tabs in the Edge browser which I have had to start using more & more since these functions stopped working in the firefox browser. I've always preferred using firefox even though it is a huge resource hog, but if firefox doesn't fix these problems soon. I will have to resort to using the Edge browser over using the firefox browser. That reminds me of a 3rd problem with your "unload tab" function, 3. The "unload tab" function ONLY works if you click on and open the single tab first. The "unload tab" function ONLY WORKS for a SINGLE TAB at a time. When/if you select multiple tabs and select the "unload tab" function in the "right click" drop-down, ONLY the first tab selected and that you are currently on, using, and viewing will "unload" while NONE OF the remaining selected tabs will "unload". You need to make a way to "unload" ALL TABS that you are NOT currently viewing/using as "unloading" tabs one at a time is painfully tedious. The "unload tab" function would be a great idea to reduce firefox from being the huge memory hogger that it is, but only if you make using the "unload tab" function's use less tedious. Perhaps Mozilla should consider making the "unload tab" function less necessary, by either making the "unload tab" function automatic and not NEED to run every opened tab until said tabs are actually in use & actively being used OR BY making firefox less of the enormous resource hog that it has become.
