If I load any page using Mozilla firefox, I find Indian Railway site home page coming up in some of the frames. This problem does not occur in Internet Explorer.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox but this problem continues. If required I can provide a screen shot of the problem. For example : If I need to design a template for any site, I should get a blank box for template design. But in Firefox, this blank box is filled with Indianrail.gov.in website home page not allowing me to do any work. Pl help in solving this issue.

You can remove all data stored in Firefox from a specific domain via "Forget About This Site" in the right-click context menu of an history entry ("History > Show All History" or "View > Sidebar > History") or via the about:permissions page.

Using "Forget About This Site" will remove all data stored in Firefox from that domain like bookmarks, cookies, passwords, cache, history, and exceptions, so be cautious and if you have a password or other data from that domain that you do not want to lose then make a note of those passwords and bookmarks.

You can't recover from this 'forget' unless you have a backup of the affected files.

It doesn't have any lasting effect, so if you revisit such a 'forgotten' website then data from that website will be saved once again.

Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.

"Clear the Cache":

  • Firefox/Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"

"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:

  • Firefox/Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window or otherwise make changes.

Thanks for the detailed reply. I tried all the options one by one - but by problem still remains. I have even deleted all the history, cookies, cache, uninstall Firefox and reinstall - but the problem remains.

The below screen shot gives a clear picture of the issue. The Description box should be blank for me to type something. But it gets filled up with Indian Railways website and I am being allowed to type anything. This happens in all the sites where I need to fill some information.
