the period key opens the menu bar how do I stop this

Whenever I hit the period key my menu bar opens. How do i stop it from doing so? I tried an addon to see if i could change the key but im not seeing the one I want to change.

The menu bar should only open if you tap the Alt key, possibly in combination with a shortcut for one of the menu items (e.g. Alt + F for File).

Did you try to close and restart Firefox or reboot the computer?

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

  • Do not click the Reset button on the Safe mode start window or otherwise make changes.

OK thank you I figured it out it was my keyboard i switched it out and it stopped doing it. Thank you for the reply
