Some Firefox windows missing elements on session restore

This is a weird problem that's also tough to search for.

Since I updated to v4, whenever I restore a session (restart), at least 1 or more of my windows are restored without a whole set of Firefox features/icons/buttons/etc missing.

Additionally, I can't type into the URL bar, open a new tab, and can only sometimes use Ctrl-Tab to switch between the tabs in that particular window.

Notice how there's no back/forward buttons, or search box to the right. My bookmarks toolbar and tabs bar are also gone.

Ideas?

How old is that Profile?
Looks like you have some older extensions that aren't really needed in Firefox 4, plus a whole bunch of disabled extensions and although they may be disabled they could have an effect on Firefox. Plus the shear number or "mix" of extensions installed can contribute to weird problems like that. BTW, Firebug is known as problematic, and the developer recommends that it only be enabled when you need to use it. I keep a separate Profile specifically for Firebug, with few other extensions, and I launch that Profile when I want to use Firebug and then close it when I have the answer I want.

My advice is to try a new Profile, transfer your personal data files to the new Profile, and then install only current extensions that you want to use.

BTW, I tend to have 45 to 65 extensions installed in my most used Profile and I have run into similar weird problems from time to time over the years; all it takes is one extension that "doesn't play well with others" to "ruin a good time for everyone at the party". Fewer problems like that since I started using a new Profile for every new major version of Firefox that comes out, and then installing only current extensions, instead of allowing all those extensions to be updated as part of the "first run" of a new major version installation.

Thanks @edmeister for your quick reply. Yup, I'll admit my profile is old, probably dating back to my first use of Firefox/Firebird 0.x!

I was hoping you wouldn't say that (use an alt profile), but it sounds like that may be my only recourse. The idea of having to open/close different profiles makes me cringe though, which is why I've avoided it so far.
