Maybe the video is too short or otherwise doesn't trigger PiP.

Is what the camera sends really a video and not a sequence of separate images shown via JavaScript ?

There are prefs available on the about:config page to set when to show the PiP controls.

  • media.videocontrols.picture-in-picture.video-toggle.always-show false
  • media.videocontrols.picture-in-picture.video-toggle.min-video-secs 45

You can open the about:config page via the location/address bar. You can click the button to "Accept the Risk and Continue".

The video in the example is continuous. I would expect any video that displays on FF to show up in PIP. Also I have tried 2 other cameras and it did not work.

Did you try media.videocontrols.picture-in-picture.video-toggle.always-show = true ?

It does not work for any camera based video. I placed an example where you able to get it to work or is there any camera based video that does work?

I found an App that displays PIP in Firefox for Camera which means that FF only supports specific video formats. Does anyone know what they are?
