How is the Quantum address bar now configured?
Using v58 and there are now some new context sensitive elements showing in the address window (pocket, bookmark, page actions and reader).
Personally do not like this and want them as separate elements on the right (the way I've had it!!). I deleted pocket but it totally disappeared. I expected to find it in the group of items for me to position under customize, but do not.
Is this configurable?

Not with css. Would need to delete/hide the urlbar element, create a script to add a toolbar button and assign the function you want it to perform. If interested, I created several toolbar buttons for Firefox Quantum: Restart Browser, Tabs On Bottom, Element Inspector in Tooltip, Password/Cookie Manager, Tab Close on Left, Multi Tab Rows, Slant Tabs ala Chrome, Check for Browser Update, and more...

You can find some items like the bookmarks star in the "Page actions" drop-down list (3-dot icon at the right end of the location/address bar). You can right-click an item in the "Page actions" drop-down list to add its button to the location/address bar for easy access or remove the button. These items can only be in the page actions container and can't moved to the Navigation Toolbar.
You can right-click the Pocket button (Save to Pocket) and click "Remove from Address Bar" to remove the Pocket button from the location/address bar.
You can set this pref to false on the about:config page to disable Pocket.

You can set this pref to false on the about:config page to disable reader mode.
- reader.parse-on-load.enabled = false
You can open the about:config page via the location/address bar. You can accept the warning and click "I accept the risk!" to continue.

I have pretty much decided I am not going to code anything and limit myself to GUI config and about:config changes.
That said, not sure why Mozilla thinks hard coding these formerly configurable elements is an improvement.

They don't want those "formerly configurable elements" played with by add-on developers, but left the "backdoor" open so individual users can make those modifications themselves. But restrictions may be coming in the future baring even users from messing with certain areas of the UI.

Sorry if you think that I misled you, but I was speaking globally about "formerly configurable elements" and my opinion about why Mozilla is not giving users as much latitude with moving UI elements around as before Quantum came about.
