Is the problem with the initial download in Firefox, or once you start running the installer, which needs to connect back to Adobe for additional files?

Do you want to try this alternate link? It's legit: Macromedia is the company that originally developed Flash; they were acquired by Adobe and Adobe operates this website.

This is a much larger download, nearly 20 MB, because it's an "offline" installer that doesn't need to connect back for additional files.

Are you using one of the links below?

Update your Flash Player Note: Windows users should download the ActiveX for Internet Explorer. and the plugin for Plugin-based browsers (like Firefox).

Note: Windows 8 and Windows 10 have built-in flash players and Adobe will cause a conflict. Install the plugin only. Not the ActiveX.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link} by holding down the <Shift> (Mac=Options) key, and then starting Firefox.

A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh). Is the problem still there?
