New tab button not clickable in corners

Minor but annoying issue: I like to keep the new tab button in the top left so I can 'flick' onto the button rapidly with the mouse. With Firefox 55 having the mouse on the extreme corners of the new tab button (i.e. the corner pixel) don't activate it - clicks here do nothing. Is there anyway to fix this or does this require Mozilla to redesign the button back to how it was?
