Firefox having issues with dual monitors

I have dual monitors. Whenever I open a firefox window on my other other monitor and go to that monitor, it no longer automatically switches to an active session; I have to go to the task bar and switch it. it used to happen automatically; I could click on a firefox window on one monitor then go to other and it would activate without going to the task bar. How can I fix this?
