I am trying to install (using google play store) firefox on my Philips 48PFS8109/12 android 4.2.2 TV and get message "your device isn't compatible with this version". Will firefox be compatible in the future with this tv?

Hmm this is a Tv and not a tablet or phone.

Hard to say in initial checking what cpu this tv has (quad core does not say much) as you need either ARMv7 or Intel type of cpu for starters to run mobile Firefox for Android 2.3+.
