Signing in and passwords
Since Firefox crashed and I had to jump through a lot of hoops to restore bookmarks, and also had to upgrade to version 39 - things just don't work properly any more like they used to.
I have to sign in to Firefox every single day and then receive an email notifying me that a new device has signed in. It doesn't remember any of the passwords which is extremely stressful when you're working on hundreds of client sites a day.
I can't use the Amazon S3 addon any more which makes things a tad trickier.
How can I fix these issues - or are they unfixable?

When it asks you to sign in and you receive a notification, this sounds like you may be signing into Firefox Accounts. Check to see if password sync is enabled in the settings: in about:preferences#sync However if Firefox is not remembering passwords also try: Password manager - Remember, delete and change saved passwords in Firefox
The Amazon addon I am not entirely sure about. But you can contact the developer of the add on on their original add on page if the contact information is up to date:https://addons.mozilla.org
Thankyou Guigs for trying to help. I already had sync enabled and passwords enabled and I always choose remember password but none of them have been saved. Yes, it is the Firefox Accounts I think that I keep getting prompted to sign in to, every day on every web page. It drives me crazy. I was never prompted to keep signing in with previous versions. And even when I do sign in, none of the passwords are remembered.
Unfortunately the latest version of Firefox just doesn't work properly, like earlier versions did which is a shame. If I can't get it to work I'll have to switch browsers which I'm not keen to do.
I've checked on the addons page and the Amazon S3 Firefox organizer is not available for version 39. I will check with the developer.
In case you use "Clear history when Firefox closes" or otherwise clear history.

The Sync version used in Firefox 34 and later uses the password manager to store the name (e-mail) and password to be used to connect to the Sync server. The chrome://FirefoxAccounts entry in the password manager stores the authentication data (kA and kB) in JSON format. Previous Firefox versions stored this data in the signedInUser.json file in the profile folder, but the current version only stores the sessionToken in this file and needs the password manager for the Sync credentials.

Thankyou for your help. I checked all these settings and passwords were not checked for clearing. All the settings recommended in that article were already correct. So I just don't understand. I'm also still being asked to sign into the account and receiving an email "A new device is now syncing with all of the devices connected to your Firefox Account. " every time I sign in. But even signed in, I still cannot save passwords.
It's terribly frustrating. Am I then only person to have these issues with version 39?
