Help! All of my bookmarks, browsing history, and profile prior to Sept 4, 2026 have been erased. Firefox instructions for restoring these prior bookmarks do not work. When I access "manage bookmarks" then the "Library", then "import & backup & restore", there is nothing listed prior to Sept 4, 2026. So there is no file to choose. Also my prior profile has been erased. My profile is completely blank altho I did NOT create a new profile nor did I access my profile in any way!!!

Also the instructions for "restore bookmarks from backup" do not work either. I desperately need that browsing history and those bookmarks. I am doing research for an art history project & those bookmarks for the last two years were stored there & seemed securely in place for the last three years. I need those bookmarks & the browsing history which included sites I used but did not necessarily cite in my research.

My bookmarks included the sole documentation I had of my research for this project for the last two years!!! When Firefox said it would continue to support Windows 10, I had no reason to believe my entire browsing history and/or my previously secure bookmarks would be erased. Hi! I reached out on Friday and was sent a code that expired in 5 minutes, missed the deadline and had to leave the library. I updated Firefox to 155 and can't find my bookmarks. Also found that a Microsoft update included Goggle Chrome that I uninstalled. Please advise on getting my bookmarks back thank you. I only have 30 minutes left on line. After problems with loading the current Firefox session, I seem to have retrieved my bookmarks (I cannot be certain all of them are there), except the Bookmarks toolbar and Other bookmarks folders are empty. I have a recent backup, but when I try to import the json file, it wipes out all bookmarks - I have to reboot to see them again. If I had them in html format I might try to manually add the missing bookmarks. Even better, maybe there is a way to merge the current and backed-up bookmarks. But I don't want to make things even worse. Any advice that certainly will work? Thank you for your help. Incidentally, sometimes the bookmarks won't load, and I have to reboot, sometimes several times, to see them again. How might I avoid this?

I accidentally deleted my old Firefox beta And I need to recover my settings bookmarks and data etc by logging in how do I do that immediately? I'm trying to recover my old Firefox beta account how can I do that immediately

I made a change somewhere that caused a total loss of history/open tabs even in my tab manager extension. I can't remember exactly what it was I changed but nothing I have searched here has been helpful in recovering from this. I did not want to bring my profile from home as I am using Firefox here in a work environment. Can someone point me to or explain a step by step method to be able to do this? Nothing I found in searching here has been positive.

I recently made a backup (via the option under Account and sync in the settings), as I was switching to a new OS. Unfortunately, when selecting the backup in the new OS, I am greeted with the error message:

This file isn’t working. Try picking a different file.

According to this, my file is corrupted. Is there anything I can do to fix this, or have I just lost all my data? I no longer have access to the profile files in the original OS.
