Since update to version 145.0 I cannot send messages, when sending I get this message "Sending of the message failed. An error occurred while sending mail. The mail server responded: <*******@shaw.ca> sender rejected AUP#POL. Please verify that your email address is correct in your account settings and try again". Nothing has changed with account settings. Same problem on another machine that updated to 145.0. Any ideas what is broken?

Chosen solution

Problem resolved unable to send error AUP#POL. Prior to Thunderbird 145.0 update. SMTP was set to port 25, no connection security, no authentication. I changed to port 587, used connection security STARTTLS, changed authentication to - Password, added my - username. I sent message it prompted for my account password and I checked to save password for all sequences. All is good, this must be a policy requirement for the support of Microsoft Exchange server added to 145.0.

I had this issue on 128esr, and continuing after updating to 140esr. Seems more likely a Rogers issue then a Thunderbird one.

Agreed, the issue is still intermittent sometimes not able to send and points to Rogers as the problem noted.
