Release notes for Firefox v120.0 https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/120.0/releasenotes/

Among these release notes, "Firefox’s private windows and ETP-Strict privacy configuration now enhance the Canvas APIs with Fingerprinting Protection, thereby continuing to protect our users’ online privacy." How good or bad is the feature? There's the canvas blocker extension which might now be obsolete, then again without details this is impossible to anser. How exactly does the Canvas API enhance Fingerprinting Protection with this new update? The release notes don't explain that, where do i find details? Firefox should use this for all windows not only private ones.

Among the relase notes, "Firefox is rolling-out Cookie Banner Blocker by default in private windows for users in Germany during the coming weeks. Firefox will now auto-refuse cookies and dismiss annoying cookie banners for supported sites." I'm not german but would still like to use this feature as the cookie agreement popups are extremely annoying and time intensive to dismiss. Apparently in about:config "cookiebanners.service.mode" is the precise setting name. Does it have to be set to "1" to be active? This setting seemingly has the potential to replace extensions such as "Cookie AutoDelete" or uBlockOrigins Filterlists/Easylist cookie notices. Firefox should use this for all windows not only private ones.

Among the release notes: "Firefox has enabled URL Tracking Protection by default in private windows for all users in Germany. Firefox will remove non-essential URL query parameters that are often used to track users across the web." I don't get why this would only be active in private windows and germany. Firefox should use this for all windows not only private ones.

Among the release notes: "Firefox now imports TLS trust anchors (e.g., certificates) from the operating system root store. This will be enabled by default on Windows, macOS, and Android, and if needed, can be turned off in settings (Preferences → Privacy & Security → Certificates)." I've no idea what to think about this, is it a good or bad change and why? Don't try to fool me here, i want honest ansers no BS... is there potential for abuse? If Firefox uses CA's from the OS then what happens to firefox internal CA's, remain unchanged?

Among the release notes: "Firefox supports a new “Copy Link Without Site Tracking” feature in the context menu which ensures that copied links no longer contain tracking information." While this is a welcome change, i'd be much much more useful to replace “Copy Link Without Site Tracking” with “Open Link Without Site Tracking”... Otherwise there's the needless waste of time manually open a new tab and paste the link... This completely lacks any logic if you ask me, why didn't mozilla make it as i suggest above in the first place? Why the manually klick klick waste of time?

Lastly a question unrelated to this update, when RFP is enabled and the browser-screen-size is spoofed, if i go into fullscreenmode by accident, will this expose my true resolution or not?

Why is Firefox suddenly not remembering any of my logins or passwords? When I go into Preferences > Security, the box to "remember logins and passwords for websites" is checked. When I click on saved passwords they all are there. The do you want to save box is there if I have changed a login, or added a new web site. I am not in private browsing mode. The problem seems to happen every time I install the latest Firefox update, or Windows 10 Pro updates. Some of my apps want to know if I am using a new device.

After restarting my computer last week, I suddenly couldn't reach ANY websites on my computer. I tried changing security settings. I tried deleting Firefox and reinstalling it. Still, to no avail.

I don't have any problem reaching websites via Firefox on my laptop or my mobile devices. I also have no issues with using Google Chrome or Bing.

For some reason, though, I'm suddenly having the same connectivity issue using Zoom, citing Firewall and Proxy issues (I'm a single, home user). I tried turning my security program off, and that didn't help. I also did a scan using the security software and it could find no malware.

I have tried restarting the computer, and powering off and restarting the router. No help.

I'm not sure why I'm suddenly getting this issue with my desktop. I have Dell ProSupport, and while they're trying, they haven't been able to nail anything down.

Any ideas why this would suddenly happen, and only to Firefox? (and, for some reason, the Zoom connectivity?)

Jeff

Later version refuses to connect to my modem, and goes into security web mode. This modem uses HTTP/HTTPS for access, i.e., connects directly it's IP address, then the user enters a username and password. At that point, the the modem switches to HTTPS for control.

With this recent update, there is NO WAY to access the modem for any work, or upgrade the HTTPS certificate on the modem. This is a BUG.

What should happen is that if the web site will accept a HTTP connection, Firefox should NOT refuse connection or test for security issues UNTIL the user or the device switches to HTTPS.

As an aside, I've used Firefox on this Zywall modem for years until recently.

My website has a branch that is protected with username and password. At the prompt I enter those, exit Firefox and start Firefox again. When I go to the branch and this time I do not get the username and password prompt and have free access. However, when I do shift-refresh the prompt shows. Apparently Firefox does save something that it shouldn't. Is it a BUG???

Almost every time I open Firefox it has changed my screen look, my preferences and my security settings. I'm lucky if my restoring lasts 2 days. For example; this morning I opened Firefox and all appeared to be OK. This is afternoon and Firefox has come up with a dark screen, changed preferences and altered my security settings. I've raised this subject before and I'm really tired of doing this. I favour Firefox because I like the relative independence of it, whereas MS and others seem to pry on everything one does. I also think MS is deceitful in that I cannot get back my MS Office (that I paid for) after a rebuild.

I'm getting the above message after installing the latest FireFox update. I've been using the site with FireFox since 2006 and now it won't connect. I tried connecting on another computer with FireFox and it worked just fine. Verified that it was the same version and it is. Tried accessing the same site using Google and once again, it connected just fine. But somehow, since I updated the browser on this computer, it will not connect.

I had the IT rep try it on their computer and it connected. So something has happened with the update I made yesterday. Help, please!
