I had a personal certificate installed in Firefox and it was working well. It expired, so I got a new one from the same provider. Both appear in Firefox under "Privacy & Security" -> Certificates -> View Certificates... The previous one is not valid any more, and every time I try to access some page with a certificate, it uses the old one. So I tried to delete the old one. Nothing has worked so far. Doing the straightforward way of selecting it in the Certificate Manager and deleting it makes the certificate disappear from the manager menu, but if I enter the certificate manager again, it is there again. I tried to delete both certificates, same issue, both reaper in the manager. I tried to delete them, close firefox, delete cert9.db, cert8.db and key4.db and nothing. Only thing left is delete my current firefox profile and start again... Any other idea or something that I might delete before to solve this?

When using the Export Logins feature to create a .csv file, the last few fields don't seem to translate into any known date-stamp format in Excel. The data seems to have relative chronological value, but I can't make sense of it in a spreadsheet.

Can a developer check this and modify the output of those fields so it's more compatible?

I tried to log in to a website that requires access to my location. I'm using Firefox 114.02 on an iMac running Monterey 12.6.7. I was able to get in to Firefox's Location settings and now have the website listed with "Allow" noted. This was not enough, and for some time I didn't understand why. Then I discovered the Mac's System Preferences' Security and Privacy section, where Location Services are one category under Privacy. Selecting Location Services brings up a list of apps that are allowed to provide location information. For some reason, other browsers are on the list and can be turned on or off, but Firefox is not on the list of apps that can be selected as permitted. Am I missing something here? I can't find any way to add apps to the list so that they can actually be selected. Any advice?

I have a 'site' that is just files on my hard drive.

I need to click an anchor link such as: <a href="file:///dir1/dir2/dir3/dir4">Store Your Files Here</a> and have Firefox open the folder dir4 with the systems file manager. ( In my case the file manager is Nautilus ) ( Ubuntu 20.04 )

I have seen this: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Links_to_local_pages_do_not_work but it does not describe a scenario that uses the file:/// interface.

It also does not provide any information about how the files will be handled.

I can get the folder link to work currently , but it appears with the: 'Index of file///...' in a browser tab.

Obviously you can not use that for anything useful.

The main goal is to open the folder and be able to use the system file manager to include more content for the site without having to navigate to the folder manually. The folders I want to display are buried many levels down without the possibility of having descriptive names. I have ~121 pages/folders in this arrangement , and each one has content for each page. I would like to add a button on each of the 121 pages that will open each of the pages content folder.

Hello I want to disable/hide or at leas make smaller the GIANT "detail" bar that shows up on the history manager and difficults reading trough the history. There seems to be no options available in the toolbar and can't find any on about:config either. Perhaps there's a key I can add in about:config to change this?

I have run across some sites - well, pages on sites - which seem to stall and lockup my entire laptop requir8ng a restart and quick kill of the page when I then restart FF. I want to be able to simply block such pages or, the domain where such page resides. I can see things like blocking tracking but nothing on specific dom8ns or urls.

I would like to be able to control which OS and version is reported by my browser to sites like https://www.whatsmybrowser.org/ . I can do about:config but I don't see which setting has that info, to change it. I also see a User Agent Switcher extension, but it doesn't let you set the version of the OS. https://www.whatsmybrowser.org/ clearly shows my OS and version, so I know it's there somewhere. How do I change it?

I have a Password Protection App. provided by my McAfee Virus Protection Service. I have used this service for years to pay my bills. We are senior citizens on a fixed income stuck at home, this is our only way to conduct our business. Today is the due date for our payment. I have a PC - a Macbook Air and an ipad. I am looking for direction on how or if it is possible to have all three set up with common products to maximise my security and invisibility and limit tracking by programs, websites, (preferably product that "syncs) programs for browsing, email I am NOT on social media but I am really tired of getting profiled when I click on or search a product or service or a health article in my browser and suddenly I magically start getting emails related to those searches. The online advice that I have searched is anything but consistent in its response. Obviously I believe my Browser should be Firefox, but after that things get really muddy. I even asked two different IT guys at my head office and did not get

This is getting real annoying! Almost every time I log in to a website, I get a message that I haven't used this device before - when I've actually used it 50 times - and I have to use the 2FA to get a code sent to my phone. Complete waste of time. FF is behaving like I'm clearing all cookies every day - I rarely clear them. How do I fix this??

So, I've seen many apps that looked like they'd be helpful one way or another. (The latest was Malware Browser Guard.) When I click to install them, I'm warned that I'll be allowing the app to read what I enter, change things, etc. When I read more it sounds more reasonable -- it sounds like that at each step I'll be asked if I give permission for the app to read or edit -- the implication being read this specific page or edit this particular entry.

So by downloading these apps am I giving blanket authority to them to monitor my every click and keystroke or am I only telling the browser that I might want them to be able to do these things, but I need to be informed first when they are actively seeking to do something so I can decide whether to allow it at that point?

I don't suppose I have any guarantee that any software I use isn't collecting my userids, passwords, sites I visit, email I write, etc. -- but when I'm specifically warned I am authorizing a program to read what I enter, etc. it gives me pause. It's one thing to not know, another to say, no problem, have at it.

I'd like to take advantage of what some of these apps purport to provide. I'm hoping for some reassurance about downloading ones from presumably reputable companies.

For Securing my Apache server i have created a CA and from that CA i have created a self-signed certificate. When i add the certificate to the certificate manager and try to access my domain with https i am getting this warning 'Warning: Potential Security Risk Ahead'. My certificate has enough validation. How can i get rid of this warning.

I get an e-mail each day from The History Channel. Up until maybe four months ago I never had an issue, but recently I get the message Something Went Wrong Setting Up a Google DAI Stream as pictured below. I've got the latest Mozilla FireFox browser and Windows Home Edition 10. I can't quite figure out what is causing this. The link below works fine in Chrome and Edge. Any ideas for me? today i did lockout everybody on a test server of a web application while playing with CSP on the server side. no modern browser was able to open the page anymore. but the real problem was that the configuration interface was also not accessable anymore.

the option security.csp.enable is long gone since FF 99 and i had to ""downgrade to FF 98"" to be able to access the misconfigured server.

please enable that security.csp.enable in about:config back again at least for the development version of FF. someone might need it. other options are to install risky extensions and i would like to avoid that in the future.

When I start typing, there's a feature that is not very good for my privacy: "Firefox Suggest" - it shows off my web history to anyone looking at my screen, complete with thumbnails for all the websites. How can we stop it?

I'm trying to export my saved login data. When I select export data, a popup opens asking for my Firefox password. After entering the password, it indicates the password is not correct. I've reset the password with the same response.
