from a new wifi connection, foxfire cannot find proxy to open the browser; but proxy is automatic--

using wireless access to a new portal, the foxfire error message says the browser cannot connect to the internet. no website can it access it says to check the proxy settings, but the proxy is works just fine at the library--i have come to the library,to check the proxy; the browser can find the internet connection ...before i came to the library---at the new wireless connection....in my network settings it shows i am connected to the internet, time is clicking off...but the browser says it cannot find the server. The proxy is set to auto find the configuration...what is the problem?
