Firefox unable to load Windows Live login prompts that IE can

When connecting to certain Microsoft web pages (for instance, their Microsoft Connect feedback portal) that require you to log into Windows Live, the login prompt fails to load correctly. For instance, try the URL I've noted. It should load a login prompt on the right side of the page, but instead in Firefox you get the following message:

   This site may be experiencing a problem
   The site may not be a member of the Windows Live Network

You can:

   You can sign in or sign up at other sites on the Windows Live Network, or try again later at this site.

You may need to already be signed into live in firefox, for instance I was signed into hotmail, in order for this to happen. This same login works fine in IE of course, which I'm sure is what Microsoft cares about.
