New computer. Downloaded Firefox as my default browser. No previous bookmarked sites migrated. This computer system seems unwilling to open my profile to retrieve bookmarked sites stored in Firefox. How can I find/restore all my old bookmarks?

With a new computer you don't have any data (like bookmarks) to "migrate". See this for help: http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Recovering+important+data+from+an+old+profile
