Unable to backup firefox profile folders.
If I go to the profile folder, exit firefox then copy and paste the folder to a backup location. The attempted backup fails. Something about permissions as I recall. I have tried many things unsuccessfully. Something has changed that does not allow for the backup of profile folders. Adding a backup option to the profile manager would be nice. I noticed some people have found work-arounds but I need a straight-forward procedure for backing up my folders. No work-arounds please, just a simple procedure. May I ask for help with this issue?

Simple way to back up your Firefox profile
Close Firefox completely. Make sure it’s fully closed (no Firefox windows open).
Open the profile folder the easy way:
Press Windows Key + R
Type:
%APPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox\
Press Enter
Open the folder called Profiles
Copy the profile folder this way:
Right-click the profile folder (the one with a name like xxxx.default or xxxx.default-release)
Choose Send to > Compressed (zipped) folder
Move the ZIP file to your backup location. Because it’s zipped, Windows won’t complain about permissions — it’s just one clean file.
That’s it. No tricks, no deep computer knowledge needed.
I am asking for an easy resolution, copy/paste for example. I don't have or use a zip program. Copy/paste use to work but not now. Yes, I lost everything due to this issue. Years of important bookmarks and tabs gone. It seems odd to me that backing up a profile involves going into an obscure folder placement when something simple should be available, an option from the profile manager, for example. I tried to do the right thing by backing up my profiles and Firefox let me down big time.
